Kalisha Bonds Johnson, PhD, RN

Dr. Bonds Johnson is a nurse clinician and Assistant Professor with 15+ years of nursing experience, specifically 10+ years working as a psychiatric consultant in long-term care, assisted living facilities, and outpatient clinics with persons living with dementia (PLWD). Her research focuses on improving the quality of life of African American PLWD while understanding the importance of cultural nuance and improving health equity. She has expertise in African American dementia dyads, with a specific focus on daily and formal care decision-making, African American cultural nuance, and quality of life. She also has experience with numerous methodological and analytic approaches relevant to dyadic research.
